Flemingsbergs Centrum

Flemingsberg in english

Flemingsberg Centrum is a small, local centre that has been gradually extended from 2006-2009 in order to meet the needs of the growing population of Flemingsberg as well as those of local industry.

Flemingsberg boasts an academic centre of excellence with one of Europe’s most important biotechnology sites, both within research and production, on its doorstep. There is a research park, the Karolinska Institute (Karolinska Institutet) and the Royal institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan). In addition, there is the Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge (Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset). This is the local authority`s biggest employer.

Almost 30,000 people work in Flemingsberg. In association with the hospital, there is also Södertörns College (Södertörns högskola) with approximately 13,000 students.
